Several X handles, including Kamal Singh (@Vibhu84Kamal), Rajpal Bhakar (@Rajpalbhaker33) and “PDA Parivar” (@yadavanoop08), shared a video of a huge crowd of young people at night on a lit road with the overlay “Delhi police”. The Hindi captions claimed that people and youth were still on Delhi’s roads protesting. One post said Gen-Z protesters were demonstrating at midnight under the open sky and being beaten with lathis by Delhi Police and “RSS goons”, while another used the hashtag #IStandWithDhruvRathee. Together the posts drew tens of thousands of views. PIB Fact Check found that the video is old and shows candidates gathered for the physical test of a Delhi Police recruitment exam, not protesters. Linking it to the current events in Delhi is false. This adds to a growing list of recycled crowd videos used to exaggerate the scale of the recent protests, so a video’s origin and date should be checked before it is shared.
