Fact-checkers have traced the clip in Baba Thoka’s (@ThokaReturns) October 16 post, which carried fabricated, derogatory claims about Gen Dhiraj Seth, to an Instagram reel by the account meenaringola. The reel was posted on September 22, 2026, with the caption “Jalwa Tera Jalwa jalwa 🇮🇳”. It shows a performer in camouflage dancing to the patriotic song on stage. The banner behind the stage reads “BWWA Day Celebration, organised by BWWA members, 11 Bn, 73 Bn, 146 Bn & SHQ” of the BSF. The original video is a routine cultural programme by the BSF welfare association and shows no Army officer. Baba Thoka added an unrelated inset of a man in a car and an invented storyline to falsely connect it to the Army Chief. Misusing families’ cultural performances to spread personal smears against the military leadership is a particularly harmful form of propaganda, so such posts should not be shared.
