After the October 10, 2026 protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, a video began circulating that shows a vast sea of people packed into an open ground, with a government building in the background. It is labelled “Delhi Jantar Mantar – big protest, New Delhi, India”. PTI Fact Check has rated the claim false. The scene does not match Jantar Mantar, which is a narrow street lined with trees and barricades rather than a wide open ground. The near-uniform crowd and setting also point to an AI-generated visual rather than real footage. It is one of many recycled or fabricated crowd visuals, from Bangladesh, Kolkata, Assam, the 2021 farmers’ protests and a Delhi Police recruitment drive, used to inflate the scale of the protest. Crowd videos, especially those with polished graphics, should be verified before being shared.
